FAQ and Pricing

How does this work?
Just 3 easy Steps!

1. First, call or email me. We’ll talk about what kind of mural or decorative painting you are interested in having painted or what mural is right for you. Then, we will set up an appointment time.

2. At our appointment we can share ideas, inspiration pictures, and talk more in depth about your mural. I might take pictures of the room, too. Based on our meeting, I will do a few rough sketches of what your mural may look like and where objects can be placed.

3. Then I will either email you these sketches or we’ll meet again for a second time to reach a more finalized idea of your mural. When we arrive at a finalized concept, I ask that you initial each sketch.

How much does a mural cost?
The price of a mural depends on several factors (that often vary from mural to mural), so it is very important to have a consultation meeting in order to receive an accurate quote. The size and level of detail greatly influence price. The amount of time and supplies a mural will require help to determine the price of your mural. Quotes are given as flat rates and there are no hidden costs.   I work diligently to complete your mural and always go the extra mile for you.
What can you paint?
I can paint almost anything and in any style.  I paint mostly from picture references.
How long does it take to paint a mural?
The shortest amount of time that I have painted a mural in is 12 hours.  The longest amount of time, so far, is 4 (8 hour) work days or 32 hours.  The average length of time for a mural is 2 days.  Ceiling murals generally take at least 2 days.
Who takes care of supplies?
I will provide all necessary materials for the mural.
Where can I get ideas for murals?
Decorator Magazines are a great source for murals, like Better Homes and Garden’s “Kids Rooms,” “Decorative Painting,” and so many more.  Books are great, too.  For your nursery or child’s room, you can look through their story books.  We can paint an illustration from any book right on the wall.  Visit the library or book stores.  The internet is a great search tool.  I like the Google Images search engine.  I also have many ideas and idea sketches for murals that I would love to share with you.

Can I just tell you what I want and have you figure it out?
Absolutely.  I can search through my resources and put together a few options of murals and styles in which they can be painted.
Do you work in my area?
I work in and around the city of
Atlanta
and certainly do not mind a commute. I work in areas such as, but not limited to, Fulton, Dekalb, and Gwinnett.  Please call me at 678-643-9724 or email me at leslie@envmurals.com to find out if I work in your part of town.
How far in advance do I need to schedule my mural?
We can schedule your mural as soon as possible or even 6 months in advance.  I always try to keep a few open appointments each month, just in case.
Will you paint my walls a solid color and then paint a mural?
This is really determined on a case by case basis.  Should you require the help of a house painter, I can refer a great one to you.  I do not provide regular house painting as a service.  I will consider painting one wall or a small area, if the mural is to occur on this wall or small space.
What do I need to do to prepare the room to be painted?
Upon scheduling a mural I will provide you with a short list of things to do to prepare for your mural.  Generally, all walls that are to be painted need to be cleared of furniture.  If the room is large enough, push the furniture to the center of the room.  If we are painting your ceiling, all furniture must be removed from the room.
What if I want to add an object to my mural that wasn't part of our original plan or in our original sketches?
For very small additions, like 1 more butterfly to balance out a butterfly garden mural is free of charge.  Large additions to murals and overall changes in composition that would result in the undoing of finished mural work will be done at additional costs.  My goal is to ensure you complete satisfaction.
Can you do large projects?
Yes.  I provide scaffolding and should the project require an assistant, I have been working with a great one (on an as needed basis) for several years.
